Fireplace in French Linen
And so it begins… Baby steps in our home renovation. I knew I wanted to paint these bricks the minute I saw this thing. I was originally thinking white and having the gray be the base, but after painting it all gray, I kinda like it. My goal is to do eventually dry brush white on top to give it a distressed look.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for the first time. I read about this product on www.perfectlyimperfectblog.com. And now after using it, I’m a huge fan. You won’t find this paint just anywhere. In my research, I was thrilled to find a local shop here in Colorado that sells it – The Little Black Chair. The owners are super sweet and helpful. It is only available through small shops and boutiques across the US.
What do I love about the paint? Well for one – NO PREP! Yes, that right. No priming, no sanding or scuffing. Just paint it on. I usually use NO-VOC paints because I get headaches from the fumes. But this stuff barely has any smell at all. What can I paint next?!
