But the stakes are high and boy is the competition tough! Please peruse and if you like something you see – go rate it. Because of the ridiculously high turn out for this competition, there are two rounds. The first is the nomination round ends June 14th. Only 25% will make it into the final round to compete for the $5000 grand prize! Will keep you posted on any designs that may make it through. I usually would say – go design something , but I’m kaput at the moment. Go do something quiet – so I can sleep. Hint – rating designs can be a very calm activity…. =D

UPDATE – Round 1 voting is now closed!! A big thanks for your feedback! I will keep you posted on wether I made it into the finals!!!

This is a fantastic talk about copyright and it’s effects on creativity and trends.  Johanna Blakely does a phenomenal job discussing how no copyright protection has actually  helped the fashion world…

On one hand I have seen the results of this type of ideology and the wonderful things that come  from “open source”.   But it only works if the top people in the industry accept it and move forward.  On the other hand, it really really STINKS when people completely rip-off someone’s idea and claim it as their own.
